GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: PANTANI MEMORIAL. MARTIN MARCELLUSI GRAZES THE TOP10.
The Roman rider of the #greenteam finishes the race in 11th position.
The race seemed already decided after just 20 kilometers, with the high speed causing the peloton to break apart. Thirty-five riders found themselves at the front with a lead of 1’20” on the main group, among them four athletes from Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè: Filippo Fiorelli, Alex Tolio, Giulio Pellizzari, and Martin Marcellusi. The escapees were later caught thanks to the push from Astana, narrowing the gap to 70 kilometers from the start.
Many tried their luck during the climb, with the Emilian rider Luca Covili being particularly active. The decisive move from the top riders came 70 kilometers from the finish. Behind the six leaders, a small group of ten riders formed in pursuit, with Martin Marcellusi narrowly missing out on the Top 10 at the Cesenatico finish, securing the 11th position. The victory went to Alexey Lutsenko.
